Chopra discussed various social issues like domestic violence, gender inequality and importance for education of women as she addressed an event of UNICEF in Nagpur city of Maharashtra. The brand ambassador of UNICEF in India emphasised upon an education programme, Deepshikha aimed at empowering the fairer sex of the country socially, economically and morally. BASIC countries meet in New Delhi to hold talks on climate change

New Delhi, Aug 8 (ANI): The ministers of the BASIC nations - China, Brazil, South Africa and India held talks on environment change in New Delhi on Friday and discussed the future course of action on climate negotiations. The leaders, along with their negotiators, held strategic talks with India's Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar ahead of the forthcoming rounds of climate negotiations aimed at forming the global 2015 agreement. BASIC Group is a platform of the four countries for coordination on issues related to climate change. Javadekar emphasized on the importance of developing nations in initiating steps towards climate change.
