New Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar, Dec 26 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Friday after Peoples Democratic Party MLA Ashraf Mir fired from an AK-47 assault rifle to celebrate his victory against National Conference leader Omar Abdullah from Sonawar Assembly seat in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP leader Sunil Sharma said that it is a condemnable event if it has happened. Congress leader JP Aggarwal demanded strict action against Ashraf Mir. Omar Abdullah submits his resignation as chief minister of JandK

Jammu, Dec 24 (ANI): Omar Abdullah on Wednesday met Jammu and Kashmir Governor Narinder Nath Vohra and submitted his resignation from the post of chief minister of the state. He said that he submitted his resignation accepting people's verdict in the assembly elections. Abdullah said that he is waiting to see what other combinations of political parties emerge from this Assembly election, although he refuted claims of any talks with other parties for a coalition government. Political parties remain optimistic even as BJP and PDP share early leads in J and K

New Delhi/ Jammu, Dec 23 (ANI): Political parties on Tuesday remained optimistic even as BJP and PDP are locked in a close contest as the counting for the assembly elections are underway. BJP was leading in 16 seats while PDP was ahead in 15 in the early trends of counting of votes in Jammu and Kashmir where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was ahead by a slender margin in Beerwah constituency but trailing by over 1,800 votes in Sonawar seat. While BJP remained confident that it will come to power with majority and said that the party will be open to those who want to give support: PDP leader Sameer Kaul said that the party will not need support from any party and will make government on its own. NC leader Ratan Lal Gupta also remained hopeful and chose not to rely on early trends. J and K NPP' Bhim Singh said that the party will gain a few seats and claimed that no party will be able to make majority government in the state. Politicos react after Omar says UPA should have awarded Vajpayee with Bharat Ratna

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Monday after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Congress-led UPA government should have conferred Bharat Ratna to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. BJP leader Sambit Patra said that he agreed with Abdullah's statement. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also welcomed Abdullah's statement. However, he added that Abdullah should have thought about it when UPA was in power.
