Prachi has said that she did nothing wrong in asking Hindu women to give birth to 4 kids and that she is not asking for 35-40 puppies. All India Imam Organization Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi said that this is condemnable and that the time is not to do all this but to get together and fight terrorism. Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali said that the prime minister should take action on the same. Congress leader PC Chacko said that this is objectionable in secular nation like India. AAP said that this signifies BJP and that such statements take the political system in India to the lowest levels. China opens additional route to Kailash-Mansarovar in Tibet: MEA

Beijing, Feb 02 (ANI): China agreed to open an additional route to Hindu pilgrimage in Tibet through Nathu La pass, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin during Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj visit to Beijing. Akbaruddin said devotees could undertake more comfortable journey by vans and busses to Kailash-Mansarovar, where Lord Shiva is believed to be residing in perpetual meditation state along with his wife Parvati. Swaraj and her Chinese counterpart decided to set up a contact group to discuss the modalities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Beijing later this year. Swarajs trip comes just days after US President Barack Obama's unprecedented second visit to India that concluded with nuclear deal and defence co-operation between the two countries that evoked considerable concern from China. India's first double hand transplant successful, say doctors

Kochi, Feb 01 (ANI): Doctors successfully conducted India's first double hand transplant on a train accident victim in Kochi city of Kerala. The surgery was conducted at Amrita Institute of Medical Science on 30-year-old Manu, who received the hands of a 24-year-old road accident victim. Over 20 surgeons conducted the surgery that took over 16 hours over January 12 and 13. At least 110 successful hand transplants have been conducted so far in countries like US, European countries, China and Australia, since the first one in France 13 years ago. The patient, Manu, expressed his delightfulness and was eager to get back to his daily chores. Head of the Plastic Surgery Department, Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Doctor Subramania Iyer, called it a major feat for Indian doctors. He further said that both the hands were accepted by the patient's body 14 days after the surgery. Manu would be able to move his hands on his own soon and sensations will slowly return in three to four months, Dr Iyer added. Feb 1, 2015
