New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): After India's deputy consul general in New York Devyani Khobragade was strip-searched and was kept in a cell with drug addicts following her arrest for alleged visa fraud in New York, Defence Expert Capt (Retd) Bharat Verma said that such mis-handling can ruin Indo-US relations. He said that such an action is not tolerable and that PM and the government of India should infringe and give a statement on the same. Farrukhabad, Dec 15 (ANI): India has summoned US Ambassador to India, Nancy Powell to protest and convey the displeasure against the arrest of its high-ranking diplomat in New York for an alleged visa fraud, said Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid on Sunday. Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, who is the Deputy Consul General at the Indian Consulate in New York, has been accused of lying on the visa application for an Indian national who worked for her for less than four dollars an hour, violating U.S. norms. FPCCI chief favours special trade status for India

New Delhi, Nov 4 (ANI): President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Zubair Ahmed Malik, has pitched for Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status for India and liberalized visa regime to boost bilateral trade. India-Bangladesh launch Joint Retreat Ceremony on eastern international border

West Bengal, Nov 07 (ANI): India and Bangladesh launched a Joint Retreat Ceremony at the Petrapole-Benapole border outpost at the eastern international border. Petrapole is located some 120-km north of Kolkata in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Benapole is the Bangladeshi side of the border. The ceremony includes parades, march-past and lowering of the national flag of both the countries and will henceforth be a daily routine, at sundown, on the eastern border. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who attended the Ceremony, said Bangladesh and India share the same culture and heritage and the Joint Retreat will help both countries strengthen their ties.
