Bengaluru, Feb 11 (ANI): India's Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is all set to organize the tenth edition of Aero India air show in Bengaluru city from February 18. The biennial air show and aviation exhibition - Aero India Aerospace Exposition - will see the participation of leading countries including US, Russia, France and UK. The exhibition will have 'Make in India' as its major theme and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Aero India show would highlight examples of technological advancement achieved by India through international cooperation. Visitors throng the philatelic exhibition in Agartala

Agartala, Feb 11 (ANI): Visitors thronged the two-day philatelic exhibition organised by Philatelic Bureau of the Indian Postal Department in Agartala. The district level exhibition, which was inaugurated by chairperson of Tripura Commission for Women Purnima Roy at Muktadhara Hall, was thronged by professional stamp collectors and enthusiasts. Over 1, 500 stamps from different periods, countries and events were displayed at the exhibition. Organiser, Nirmal Chakraborty, said that the exhibition was organised to promote philately and give young generation an understanding of one of India's oldest communicating system in the age of e-mails and SMSes. Established in 2014, the company has already outsourced 36 mobile applications, 24 web portals and 1 animation projects from 11 different countries across the world. The company has manufactured many products especially for kids like the recently launched 'Airi Devices', a purely safety tool for young kids and elders who might not be able to handle smart phones but need to be in touch with each other. Singapore President inaugurates Peranakan Chinese exhibition in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): President of Singapore, Tony Tan Keng Yam recentlt inaugurated the first ever exhibition on the Peranakan Chinese in New Delhi as part of his four-day visit to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The exhibition titled "The Peranakan World - Cross-cultural Art of Singapore and the Straits of Malacca" glimpses into the life of the particular Chinese sect and will display an assortment of objects including diamond and gold jewellery, porcelain, furniture and beadwork, among others. He added it was appropriate that the exhibition was unveiled during the 50th anniversary of India-Singapore relations, stressing that India had a role in influencing Singaporean culture. Kashmiri nationalists allege Pakistan occupied Kashmir or PoK has virtually become a recruitment and training hub for anti-India groups. There seems to be no end to Pakistan's support to terror, via Pakistan Occupied Kashmir or PoK. Nationalist leaders have for long complained about the mushrooming of terror camps in the remote region, which operate with impunity despite opposition from all corners. Terror outfits like the Lashkar-e-Tayeba or LeT and the Jamaat-ud-Dawa or JuD look towards PoK's mountainous terrain to undertake training of youth to further their agenda. At a recent conference on "Terrorism and its impact on the South Asian region" in Vienna, Jammu Kashmir International Peoples Alliance said religious intolerance and extremism were major the threats to peace in the region. Pakistan, which has illegally occupied PoK for the over six decades, has been training and arming militants to wage proxy war against India, since the late seventies. Indian security officials in civil clothes to strengthen connect at borders

Siliguri, Feb 10 (ANI): In a unique initiative, India's paramilitary Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) (Armed Border Force) launched a pilot project in Siliguri in which officials would be deployed at Nepal and Bhutan borders for smooth transit of people. As a part of the project, SSB officials will be seen in civil clothes at India-Nepal and India-Bhutan borders to help civilians, who often get intimidated by seeing security officials. SSB Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Ranidanga Sector, A.K. Mallik, said that officials dressed in civil clothes would be able to establish greater trust among people. An SSB official, Shriparna, hoped that this initiative would ward off fear from civilians. The teams have been specially trained by experts from Ranidanga and Jalpaiguri sector headquarters to be empathetic to the civilians.
