Protest continues against Aamir Khan's 'PK'

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Dec 28 (ANI): Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers on Sunday protested against Aamir Khan's recently released 'PK' in Mumbai. The protesters alleged that Khan had hurt religious sentiments of Hindu community and demanded ban on the movie. Delhi also witnessed similar protest against the movie wherein protesters tore the movie posters outside the theatres. Meanwhile, Yoga Guru and religious leader Baba Ramdev also slammed the flick and said that the same should be stopped from showcasing in theatres. Dec 28, 2014

PM Modi lauds Guru Gobind Singh's courage as Sikhs celebrate his birth anniversary

New Delhi/ Amritsar/ Patna, Dec 28 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded Guru Gobind Singh's courage and spirit of sacrifice on his birth anniversary. "The life and ideals of Guru Gobind Singhji inspire eternally. He epitomised ultimate courage and a spirit of sacrifice. I bow to him," the Prime Minister tweeted. Meanwhile, people in Amritsar celebrated the Sikh leader's birthday. They took a dip in the holy pond and sought blessings from the almighty. Guru Gobind Singh formed the Khalsa by selecting five persons from different castes belonging to different regions. Congress workers protests against Ramdev over black money

Haridwar, Dec 22 (ANI): Thousand of workers of youth wing of Congress party held a demonstration against yoga guru Ramdev in Haridwar city. Irate workers broke police barricades and tried to proceed towards Ramdev's hermitage. Police used water canons and resorted to mild force to disperse the protesters. The workers alleged that Ramdev, in his campaign during general elections, had promised that if Narendra Modi came to power, he would bring back black money within 100 days, but nothing happened even after 200 days of Modi's rule. Congress has been accusing Prime Minister Modi-led government for not keeping its promise of bringing back the black money. Dec 22, 2014

Ramdev welcomes UN's decision to celebrate Yoga Day, calls it PM Modi's victory

Haridwar, Dec 12 (ANI): Yoga Guru Ramdev on Friday hailed UN's decision to celebrate June 21 as International Day of Yoga and said India was always recognized for its Yoga. The United Nations declared June 21 to be celebrated as International Day of Yoga, a demand put forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the United Nations early this year. The 193-member UN General Assembly approved by consensus a resolution establishing a day to commemorate the ancient practice. Modi tweeted after the decision by the UN that "Am seeing tremendous enthusiasm among all of you after the @UN declared 21st June as 'International Day of Yoga.' It is very gladdening." Dec 12, 2014
