New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI): Israel's former President Shimon Peres met India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to boost ties and discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues. Nobel laureate Peres will launch a tri-lateral dialogue on food and water security involving India, Israel and Australia. Peres, who completed his seven-year tenure as president in July this year, would participate in the World Economic Forum meet in New Delhi. India has opted to buy Israel's Spike anti-tank guided missile, a defence ministry source said on November 01, rejecting a rival US offer of Javelin missiles that Washington had lobbied hard to win. India successfully test fires nuclear cruise missile 'Nirbhay'

New Delhi/ Chandipur, Oct 17 (ANI): India on Friday successfully test fired the indigenously developed nuclear capable sub-sonic cruise missile 'Nirbhay' at the Integrated Missile Test Range near Balasore in Odisha. Proving a host of technologies and bridging the critical gap in the country's arsenal, the missile was test fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur for a distance of about 1,000 km. Cruise missile 'Nirbhay' can strike targets more than 700 kms away. This was the second test firing attempt. The missile had failed in its debut attempt which was made last year. Security Expert US Rathore said that the test fire of the cruise missile 'Nirbhay' was very important for India. Pakistan test fires short range surface-to-surface missile Hatf IX

Pakistan, Sep 26 (ANI): Pakistan on Friday conducted a successful test fire of short range surface to surface missile Hatf IX (NASR). NASR, with a range of 60 kilometres and in-flight manoeuvre capability is a quick response system, with shoot and scoot attributes. It contributes to the full spectrum deterrence against the prevailing threat spectrum. According to press release from the ISPR, the test fire was conducted with successive launches of 4 missiles from a state of the art Multi Tube Launcher with Salvo Mode. Addressing the participants at the launch area, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Rashad Mahmood, congratulated the scientists and engineers on achieving yet another milestone towards Pakistan's deterrence capability.
