Dalai Lama calls for social equality to uphold world peace

New Delhi, Nov 21 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness, The Dalai Lama called for social equality to uphold world peace while speaking at World Hindu Congress meet in New Delhi on Friday, which aims at uniting the society across the globe. The Dalai Lama said that war and violence are created by man, which needs to be stopped. Hailing the teachings and the values of the Hinduism, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that Hinduism preaches to rise in all walks of life, which will help to bring equality in the society. The conference is being attended by about 1,500 delegates from 40 countries of the world. BJP pulls up Lalu for calling PM Modi 'NRI'

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday hit back at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a Non Resident Indian, saying there is no need to take any advice from a person who is outside jail at the moment and challenging his conviction. Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Modi's ongoing three-nation visit, Lalu had earlier on Tuesday quipped that the former had become a Non Resident Indian. He also lashed out at the BJP-led government's promise to bring back black money stashed in safe havens abroad within 100 days of coming to power. Machil fake encounter case: Seven armymen sentenced to life imprisonment

Sopore, Nov 13 (ANI): The family members of the youths who were killed in a fake encounter in Machil sector of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed satisfaction after the army on Thursday convicted seven men, including two officers and five soldiers, for their involvement in the case. In the 2010 Machil fake encounter case, three youths - Mohamad Shafi, Shehzad Ahmed and Riyaz Ahmed, were killed after being lured for jobs in Jammu and Kashmir, according to Ministry of Defence (MOD) sources. All the service benefits of the seven convicted armymen have also been suspended reportedly. Security forces had earlier claimed that they had killed three infiltrators and recovered five AK47 rifles, ammunition and Pakistani currency from them in the Machil sector. Nov 13, 2014

Paramilitary Assam Rifles gun down four militants in Assam

Dima Hasao, Nov 06 (ANI): Four militants were killed in two separate encounters with paramilitary Assam Rifles and the police in Dima Hasao district of Assam on Thursday. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the militants. According to reports, the Assam Rifles had launched an operation near Robi Basti village, and indulged in a gun battle in which three militants were killed. Two AK series rifles, 73 rounds of ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered from the militants. The militants belonged to National Socialist Council of Nagalim - Isak- Muivah (NSCN-IM) rebel group. Meanwhile, another operation was conducted near Kopilo village, a day before, on the junction of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, an area frequented by NSCN (IM) insurgents for their transit into the state, said sources. In the encounter an ultra was killed and one AK-47 rifle, one Lathod rifle, one hand grenade and over 100 rounds of ammunition were recovered from him. Nov 6, 2014
