New Delhi/ Ahmedabad, May 02 (ANI): Political leaders welcomed the government's initiative to approach Allahabad High Court sitting judge to probe into the Snoopgate case. Congress leader Kapil Sibal said that Narendra Modi is terrified by the news. He said that there was no chance of getting any results out of this case wherein the commission is set up by Modi himself. Arjun Modhwadia said that the present commission was a 'Modi saving commission' and that the central government should have appointed the judge long before. The Gujarat administration filed two FIRs against BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi on orders of the Election Commission (EC) after he delivered a politically charged speech and displayed his party's symbol, lotus, in violation of the poll code soon after exercising his franchise in Gandhinagar. A police complaint was also lodged against TV channels. New Delhi, April 30 (ANI): Political parties welcomed Election Commission's move wherein the Commission asked the Gujarat police to file an FIR against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that its incumbent for the EC to take such an action. AAP leader Prashant Bhushan also welcomed the move and said that it is not for the first time that BJP has done something like this. He said that BJP do not care about the poll panel and that he should be banned from future election campaign. Post voting, Modi clicked a selfie of his inked finger along with party’s election symbol lotus – triggering an instant controversy with Congress party leaders slamming the move as a publicity gimmick and against the laid guidelines of the Election Commission. Voting underway in seventh phase of LS polls

Ahmedabad/ Lucknow/ Amritsar/ Birbhum/ Jhansi, April 30 (ANI): Eighty nine Lok Sabha constituencies spread across seven states and two union territories went to polls on Wednesday morning amid tight security arrangements. Voting is also underway for 119 assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. Polling began at 7 a.m. and will continue till 6 p.m. However, in some sensitive areas of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, the voting process will end at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively. Of the 89constituencies where polling is underway, 26 are in Gujarat, 17 in Telangana, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Punjab, 9 in West Bengal, 7 in Bihar and one each in Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
