New Delhi, Jan 12 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday met United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in capital New Delhi. Both the leaders will hold discussions on various issues. Ban Ki-Moon is on a three day visit to India which will conclude tomorrow. Naidu added that the government went for ordinance in coal and other imp issues as there is constitutional provision for ordinance. Congress calls for shutdown in Gujarat against 'Vibrant Gujarat Summit'

Ahmedabad, Jan 10 (ANI): Congress party has called for a shutdown on Saturday in Gujarat protesting against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's proposed "Vibrant Gujarat Summit" beginning Sunday. Congress activists have been holding protests at important government installations across the state. Dozens of Congress activists held a protest outside the Income Tax department in Ahmedabad city before they were detained by police. A Congress activist Ketan Rawal said the government was holding the summit to attract investments in the state at a time when it had failed to tackle important issues. The summit, which is an annual event, was the brainchild of Narendra Modi when he ruled the state before becoming prime minister last year. India, Bangladesh officials meet to discuss border issues

Agartala, Jan 10 (ANI): A two-day meet between Indian and Bangladeshi delegates began on Friday in Tripura, to discuss issues related to trans-border crimes, insurgent movements, human trafficking, narcotics and smuggling. Agartala city is hosting a 30-member delegation from Bangladesh for the India-Bangladesh Joint Border Conference. Personnel from India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh's Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were also in attendance at the district magistrate-level meet. The DCM of Rangamati district in Bangladesh, Mohammad Shamsul Arefin, called the talks fruitful and hoped that it would further improve ties between the two nations. Jan 10, 2015
