Varanasi, June 05 (ANI): Indian Railways plan to revamp the railway station of Varanasi, the constituency of PM Modi, to meet international standards. Varanasi which is situated on the banks of the Ganges, is one of the two constituencies from where the newly- elected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, fielded his candidacy and won during the general elections last month. The city is an important centre of the Indian Railways (IR). Traffic from all over the country goes through this station, which makes it a very important one. Narendra Modi announces portfolio of his Cabinet ministers

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced the portfolios of his cabinet ministers putting a stop at the speculations over the same. Modi kept charges of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space to himself. While Rajanth Singh was given charge of Home Ministery, Arun Jaitley is incharge of Finance, Corporate Affairs and Defence Ministry. Sushma Swaraj is the new External Affairs Minister, and Venkaiah Naidu is embodied with ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs. Nitin Gadkari took oath as Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Miniter along with Prakash Javadekar as the Information and Broadcast Minister, whereas DV Sadananda Gowda is the new Railways minister Uma Bharti is given Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation ministry, whereas Najma Heptulla is the new Minority Affairs minister. Gorakhdham express collides with goods train, no casualty reported

Gorakhpur, May 26 (ANI): At least four bogies of Gorakhdham Express got derailed at Sant Kabir Nagar and collided with a goods train on Monday. Gorakhdham Express was going from Delhi to Gorakhpur. CPRO Northern Railways Alok Singh said that many passengers were injured but there were no reports of any casualty. He said that medical teams and rescue teams are sent on the spot and further details are awaited. May 26, 2014

Women's National Football championship in Assam brings together players from across the country

Assam, May 15 (ANI): The game of football is extremely popular in the Northeast. The ongoing 20th Senior Women's National Football Championship in Assam is witnessing a large turnout of people keen to watch the games. The national sporting event, being organized for the 1st time by the Dibrugarh and Golaghat District sports associations, was inaugurated recently at the Dibrugarh outdoor stadium. During the inaugural ceremony, artists presented various cultural performances, including Bihu dance. A total of 22 teams from 21 states and the Railways have been divided into 4 groups. The matches will be played at Golaghat, Dergaon, Chabua and Dibrugarh. The championship commenced with the inaugural match between West Bengal and Delhi. May 15, 2014

Journalists attacked by police in Indore over parking row

Indore, April 27 (ANI): At least five journalists were injured after being allegedly attacked by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel and vehicle parking lot employees at GRP Police Station in Indore over parking row. SP, Railways, RC Bhurrah said on Sunday that three GRP personnel, including a head constable have been suspended, while criminal cases are lodged against four cops and 2 parking lot staff.
