New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a press conference on Monday with Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena congratulated the later for his win and the election mandate given by the people. Modi said that the mandate represents collective voice of Sri Lanka and their aspirations for united and prosperous nation. He said that the two had discussions on bilateral relations and international issues. PM Modi also asserted that India will support for a balanced trade in both directions. He also assured to improve air and sea connectivity between the two nations. The two leaders also had discussions on civil nuclear cooperation among others. Finally, the prime minister thanked Sirisena for invited him to Sri Lanka and said that he was eagerly looking forward to visiting the'beautiful nation' in March. Feb 16, 2015

Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena meets PM Modi at Hyderabad House

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House on Monday. Both the leaders are likely to hold talks on all major issues such as devolution of power to the Tamil community and the sticky fishermen issue. Earlier in the day, Maithripala Sirisena met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi to boost ties. The two leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues. Sirisena arrived in India on Sunday, on his first state visit abroad, as a part of efforts to repair relations with New Delhi which soured under the previous government. New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Monday said that talks on civil nuclear cooperation may figure in the dialogue with Sri Lankan delegation. Sri Lanka's President, Maithripala Sirisena, arrived in India on Sunday, on his first state visit abroad, as a part of efforts to repair relations with New Delhi which soured under the previous government. In the past, the two neighbours have had talks on a possible civil nuclear agreement but failed to reach any concrete understanding. Maldives Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon meets Indian counterpart to boost ties

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Maldives Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon met her Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Sunday to boost ties.
