It is for the first time that Finance Ministry has released budget manual in Hindi language. Mukherjee said that such exhibitions promote the agricultural sector. Mukherjee is on two day visit in Maharashtra and will have stopovers in Mumbai, Nagpur and Gondia for a few occasions. New Delhi, Feb 4 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Tuesday said the ministry has written to the Ugandan High Commission regarding a complaint filed by three Ugandan women with the police indicating that they were allegedly brought to India under false pretenses. Akbaruddin further said they have suggested to the Ugandan High Commission to provide counselor services to the three Ugandan nationals as early as possible. Jairam Ramesh bats for uniform minimum wages across country

New Delhi, Feb 2 (ANI): Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh, on Sunday backed the proposal to equate the wages for works under the central government-run employment scheme with the minimum wages prevailing in states. The minister said minimum wages in 14 states was more than remuneration paid for the work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). He said that state governments and the central governments should jointly determine it. MGNREGA is the biggest programme that guarantees 100 days of minimum work for poor people in rural areas.
