Passengers left aggravated as Punjab shuts down on 30th anniversary of 1984 riots

Ludhiana/ New Delhi, Nov 01 (ANI): Passengers faced inconvenience as rail services were halted in Punjab on Saturday (November 01), which is under complete shutdown on the 30th anniversary of 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Rail and road services were disrupted along with the shutdown of shops, government offices and schools. On Saturday, passengers passing through or boarding from Ludhiana city were left stranded at the railway station. Meanwhile, in New Delhi, people gathered in Sikh temples to mourn the loss of their loved ones who lost their lives in 1984 massacre. Ravinder Kaur, who lost her brothers, father and husband to the riots, said she is still waiting for some kind of justice to be meted out. Nov 1, 2014

RSS volunteers clean mosque in cyclone affected Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Oct 20 (ANI): Volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) cleaned mosques in Visakhapatnam, after cyclone Hudhud left behind a trail of destruction when it hit the region last week. Coordinator of Visakhapatnam region of RSS, Ram Bahadur, said that the political leaders in the country had created a wrong perception that RSS is against Muslims and Christians. The volunteers were seen using electric saws to cut trees that were fallen inside the mosque complex. They were also cleaning the floors and removing broken glasses that were scattered everywhere. Asian Games: India bags gold in Hockey, beats Paksitan

New Delhi, Oct 02 (ANI): India bagged gold at the 17th Asian games after Indian hockey men's team defeated Pakistan in the finals. India beat Pakistan 4-2 in penalties to win gold and a place in Rio Olympics. The team scored 4th and 5th goal to add another gold to India's medal tally. The team was lead by Sreejesh. The Indian hockey team had last won Asian Games gold in 1998 in Bangkok.
