People across India demand improved facilities ahead of rail budget

Patna/ Moradabad/ Amritsar, Feb 26 (ANI): Passengers across India have been demanding improved facilities at higher fare as India unveils its rail budget 2015-16 in parliament on Thursday (February 26). Among their wish lists are improved facilities, passengers' safety, hygiene in railway compartments and strict adherence to train timings. The upcoming Railway Budget by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government is expected to restore the glory of railways as the sector is reeling under financial crunch. Passengers from various states complained of an array of issues and said that increase in fare to upgrade the facilities can be done. Last year's rail budget presented by the previous Congress-led UPA government left train fares and freight rates unchanged. Safety measures for citizens, especially women, are also on top of the list. Feb 26, 2015
