Two suspected Kuki militants killed, three others injured in encounter in Imphal

Imphal, Jan 29 (ANI): Two suspected Kuki National Front (KNF) militants were killed and three others were injured in a gun battle between 8 Assam Rifles and the militants at Kadangband in Imphal. The security personnel were on high alert following a series of attacks by insurgents during the Republic day celebrations. Sources said the occupants of a jeep fired indiscriminately during a routine check at Kadangband. The security forces retaliated leading to the death of two insurgents on the spot. The three injured persons have been identified as Helen Kuki (30), Satmamang Kuki (23) and Thangkholin Kuki (25). All the three injured suspected KNF cadres are undergoing treatment at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, informed a source. Police arrest four Maoists in Bihar

Rohtas, Jan 14 (ANI): In a joint combing operation with paramilitary force, police has arrested four Maoists from Rohtas district of Bihar. Huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered in the ambush on Tuesday. The security forces recovered two rifles, 13 single barrel guns, a pistol, 78 bullets, two sacks of gunpowder, batteries used in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), 21 splitters used in bombs and several kilograms of explosives. Superintendent of Police (SP), Chandan Kumar Kushwaha, said the arrests were made after a two-day-long combing operation in Kaimur hills and forest tracts of Banda village in the district. Many soldiers, along with residents, donated blood at the camp organised in Budgam district. General Officer Commanding Kilo Force of Rashtriya Rifles, Asit Mishra, said that blood donation is the highest form of humanism. Requirement of blood has always been high in the state due to militancy and insurgency activities. The army said it planned to take up similar projects in the future. Seven militants arrested in connection with attacks in Assam

Kokrajhar, Jan 10 (ANI): In a joint operation, police and army arrested seven militants and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions in connection with attacks in Assam , which killed at least 80 people. Police believe that a faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), fighting for a separate state for ethnic Bodos, was behind coordinated attacks on tea plantation workers and their families in Assam. Sub-divisional police officer, Kokrajhar district, Ankur Jain said that seven militants were arrested of (NDFB).
