AAP- BJP will surely merge in future: Ajay Maken before filing nomination papers

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Before filing his nomination papers from Sadar Bazar constituency, Congress leader Ajay Maken said that AAP and BJP will surely merge in future. He said that BJP’s CM Candidate Kiran Bedi and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal started their journey from Anna Hazare’s protest and they will ultimately join hands together. He said that the two started with the name of corruption but now no one is talking about the same. He also invited the two leaders for a public debate and taking jibe at Bedi said that a person who can’t debate and answer to people's question, how does she plan to give governance in Delhi. The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7, with the counting of votes set to take place on February 10. Jan 21, 2015

Opposition flays BJP for induction of Kiran Bedi, BJP clarifies

New Delhi/ Noida, Jan 19 (ANI): Major political parties snubbed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (January 19) after it inducted former IPS officer and social activist, Kiran Bedi, ahead of polls in Delhi. Bedi was one of the core members of social activist Anna Hazare's team and supported him throughout his fight against corruption and formulation of an Ombudsman Act. AAP leader Ashutosh said the decision to induct Bedi would backfire on BJP. Congress leader PC Chacko also said Bedi would prove to be a liability to BJP. BJP leaders Jagdish Mukhi and Harsh Vardhan have defended the move and said Bedi would infuse party workers. Polls in Delhi will be held on February 07 and results will be declared on February 10. New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Former IPS officer and BJP leader Kiran Bedi denied Congress' allegation that she used anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare to enter politics saying that joining Anna was the right thing to do at that time. She said that during those days, the nation was into a morass of corruption and a voice had to be raised against the same. Bedi said that she do not have the habit of using people and of being used. Further, she also said that she was willing to fight Delhi Assembly elections from any part of the city as she served Delhi in different capacities during her tenure.
