Guwahati, June 21 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi on Saturday opposed the move of the BJP government regarding free visa entry for the Bangladeshi nationals. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had sought Assam opinion on the proposal of giving free visa entry to the Bangladeshis below 18 and above 65 years of age, to which Gogoi objected. He is also against proposal of multiple entry on a single visa to Bangladeshis which was put to improve relationships between both the countries. Jun 21, 2014

Railway passenger fare hike by 14.2%, Politicos react

New Delhi, June 20 (ANI): Railway Ministry on Friday hiked passenger fare by 14.2% ahead of the actual railway budget of the new government. Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda said that the previous government's orders about fare hike were passed by him and he had to implement the orders to meet all expenses. Political leaders condemned the highest fare hike in railways up till now. RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav said that BJP government has sarcastically shown its good days to people. New Delhi, June 20 (ANI): The ruling BJP government on Friday justified the advisory issued by Ministry of Home Affairs about making Hindi the official language for communication. After much uproar was raised by the States, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi justified the MHA's advisory saying that making Hindi as the official language does not discourage or disrespect other regional languages.
