Dharamsala, Oct 19 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, his holiness the Dalai Lama said that Nobel peace prize to India and Pakistan can help resolve border conflict between the two neighbours. Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai, shot in the head by the Taliban two years ago for advocating girls' right to education, and Indian children's right advocate Kailash Satyarthi won the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize on October 10. Expressing his feeling to both awardees, Dalai Lama said the decision to award the Peace Prize to an Indian man and a Pakistani woman together emphasizes that only as human brothers and sisters will we create a more peaceful, happier world. Dalai Lama commended both Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi for working to support children and said that children's future will only be secured if it is ensured that they receive full and equal education. Residents of Islamabad vow to carry forward Malala's mission

Islamabad, Oct 15 (ANI): Dozens of rights activists and residents of Pakistani capital took to the streets of Islamabad recently with lighted torches and candles to pay tributes to their young Nobel laureate, Malala Yousafzai. Malala, the Pakistani teenager, who was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 for advocating girls' right to education won the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize on October 10, along with Indian campaigner against child trafficking and labour Kailash Satyarthi. Yousafzai, aged 17, becomes the youngest Nobel Prize winner and 60-year-old Satyarthi the first Indian-born winner of the accolade. Chanting "Provide education for children, or leave your chairs", the crowd demanded that the government takes on girls' education on a war footing. Yousafzai was attacked in 2012 in a school bus in the Swat Valley of northwest Pakistan by masked gunmen as a punishment for a blog that she wrote for the BBC's Urdu service as an 11-year-old to campaign against the Taliban's efforts to deny women education. Pranab Mukherjee hopes for strengthened ties with Norway on his three-day visit

Oslo, Oct 14 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee said that India is keen to expand scope of relationship with Norway. He was invited by King Harald Vth and Queen Sonja, at a gala dinner at the Royal Palace at Oslo after he was given a ceremonial guard of honour earlier in the day. Mukherjee arrived in Norway's capital Oslo on Sunday and was received by Mayor Harald Espelund of Ullensaker. He is the first ever Indian head of state to visit Norway who is expected to reach an agreement on nuclear safety measures and other fields like education, trade and earth science. He also invited investors and entrepreneurs to invest in India. Meanwhile, King Harald Vth congratulated India's children rights crusader Kailash Satyarthi for winning the Nobel Peace Prize along with Pakistan's teenage education activist, Malala Yousafzai. Mukherjee is on a three-day visit to Norway and the main focus of his three-day visit is to attract investment in infrastructure and other areas. New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and anti-graft activist Kiran Bedi led the chorus of those congratulating child rights advocate Kailash Satyarthi, who won the Nobel Peace Prize along with Pakistani teenaged activist Malala Yousafzai. Satyarthi, 60, founded Bachpan Bachao Andolan in 1980 and has acted to protect the rights of 80,000 children. Moments after being announced the winner of the coveted prize, Satyarthi dedicated the honour to all those children who are still suffering in slavery, bonded labor and trafficking and thanked those who had been supporting him for more than three decades.
