Paige Dineen's (Katharine McPhee) efforts to make Walter O'Brien (Elyes Gabel) learn the importance of emotions in a person's life might show some result after the genius meets his new friend Ray (Kevin Weisman) in "Scorpion" season 2 episode 3, titled "Fish Filet".
The new cast member will have a major role to play in the upcoming sequel, which will be live streamed here at 9pm on Monday, 5 October. He will not just challenge protagonist but will also test his patience, teased executive producer Nick Santora.
"What that relationship asks is, 'What can the smartest man in the world possibly gain from becoming friends with maybe the dumbest man in the world?' And what Walter learns is there's a lot to gain," he told Entertainment Weekly.
The creator further explained that Walter will agree to try out the idea of camaraderie and figure out the outcome of getting involved in a casual talk "that doesn't necessarily have to have a massive end game result".
So the followers of the series can expect to watch the on-again-off-again relationship between the genius and Dineen gradually start blossoming in the third episode of season 2.
But the main focus of the sequel will be on Sylvester Dodd (Ari Stidham), who will land up in trouble after going undercover in a federal prison to save the lives of three judges. "There's a lot of challenges for us. We've got a big event. We've got one of our guys [Sylvester] in a prison. And we gotta get him out," CBS quoted cast member Robert Patrick as saying.
Tune in to CBS at 9pm on Monday, 5 October, to watch how Walter and team bring the genius mathematician out of jail in "Scorpion" season 2 episode 3, titled "Fish Filet".
