The auto lovers in India are waiting with bated breath for the launch of Nissan's iconic supercar GT-R. The launch of Nissan GT-R is scheduled for December 2 and the preparations are well underway. The pre-booking window for the GT-R is open and the iconic Godzilla can be booked for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh.
Now, we have a bit of interesting news for the auto lovers in the country. Our sources close to the development have revealed that the latest iteration of one of the most iconic performance cars will get a price tag of Rs 1.89 crore in India.
With the launch of GT-R, Nissan aims to showcase the company's pedigree in innovation and technology. "The launch of Nissan GT-R in India will be more of building our brand in the country. We are certainly not looking at volumes," Nissan Motor India MD Arun Malhotra told International Business Times, India.
Nissan GT-R has started arriving at the showrooms of the company and will be offered in Vibrant Red, Blue Racing, Ultimate Silver, Gun Metallic, Black Metallic, Pearl White and Katsura Orange shades. Powering the 2017 Nissan GT-R is a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 565bhp at 6,400rpm and 633Nm of peak torque. The engine can propel the GT-R to reach from 0-100kmph in 3 seconds.
Only five master craftsmen in the world are allowed to hand-assemble the GT-R's engine and affix a plaque carrying their name. The master craftsmen are called Takumi and the engine of the GT-R is assembled at Nissan's plant in Yokohama, Japan.
The latest iteration of the GT-R features V-motion grille with a matte chrome finish and an updated mesh pattern. Inside the cabin, the new GT-R features an instrument panel wrapped in hand-selected Nappa leather and a revised front seat design. It features relocated and redesigned paddle shifters, display commander for audio, communication, and entertainment selection and multi-function display.
