State Bank of India (SBI) customers can now save time wasted in long queues at the bank with an option to queue virtually over a mobile application, according a statement from the bank.
The "State Bank of India NO Queue" app, available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, will help customers view details such as waiting time at a given branch, the number of customers waiting and the distance to the branch from the point of booking.
"Based on the services selected by the customers, the list of branches with addresses providing those services within a configured radius of 15 km will be populated in the application," said the banke in the statement.
It is expected that once a customer reaches the branch, he or she has to activate the Q-ticket and will be serviced immediately, thus avoiding waiting at the branch.
The bank said in the statement the application is designed to save customers' valuable time, avoid queues for banking services and provide users with a better customer service experience.
The app was launched by its Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya in Mumbai.
