For quite some time now, reports have been doing the rounds that Avika Gor aka Roli of "Sasural Simar Ka" will exit the show and Mansi Srivastava will reportedly step into her shoes.
The report also stated that Mansi, who plays the role of Parvathi in "Neeli Chatri Waale," would start shooting for the show early next month. Not just that the actress was supposed to reportedly continue shooting for both the shows simultaneously.
However, according to a report in India Forums, Mansi will not be essaying the role of Roli, instead she will play a new character named Dr. Prerna, who will be helping Simar (Dipika Kakar) to find her sister Roli.
While it is not known as to why Mansi will enter the show as someone else and not Roli, one can't help but wonder if the makers felt that Mansi didn't quite fit the character of Roli. Also, if the makers fail to find a perfect replacement for Avika, will the character Roli die on the show? Only time will tell. It should be mentioned here that Avika had earlier cited that she wanted her character Roli to die instead of someone replacing her.
A few months ago, "Udaan" was in news when the makers had roped in Vidhi Pandya to play the role of grown-up Chakor after the leap. However, the makers later replaced Vidhi with TV actress Meera Deosthale. They took the decision as they felt Vidhi didn't quite fit the character of Chakor. Vidhi now plays the role of Imli on the show.
In an interview with Tellychakkar.com, Vidhi confirming the report had told the web portal that with Imli's role, she would be able to showcase her calibre, which would help her grow as an actor. "I believe I am an actor in the making not a star. Hence, I chose to play Imli than Chakor. I felt that with Imli's role I can do lots of experimentation, which would prove to be fruitful for my career," Vidhi had said.
