Vijay's film has succesfully completed its first week in theatres and has entered its second weekend. The film has retained majority of its screens despite four new Tamil movies this week in Chennai.
As per the trade reports, the advance booking for tickets of Sarkar have met with good response. For prime-time shows this weekend in Chennai, tickets have been completely sold.
After minting Rs 10.81 crore in six-day extended first weekend, the movie has managed to gross Rs 1.63 crore in the next five days. The 11-day total collection of the Vijay-starrer now stands at Rs 12.44 crore.
Without much competition in its second weekend, Sarkar is expected to do a wonderful business on Saturday and Sunday. The next two days will almost decide whether the AR Murugadoss-directorial will make it to the top three grossing-movies at the Chennai box office in its lifetime.
Currently, Sarkar is in the fourth position in the all-time highest-grossing movies in Chennai.
Meanwhile, the Vijay-starrer has grossed Rs 214.3 crore at the worldwide box office. From South India alone, the movie has raked in Rs 145.8 crore in nine days. Whereas in overseas the flick has collected about Rs 66 crore.
