Diljit Dosanjh's Punjabi film "Sardaarji 2" has had a good four-day run at the worldwide box office. The overseas opening weekend box office collection of "Sardaarji 2" is lower than its first instalment of the same name, but the film managed to earn more than Rs. 2.51 crore from the international market.
"Sardaarji 2" minted Rs. 1. 75 crore on its fourth day at the domestic box office, which took its overall box office collection to Rs. 10.50 crore. Adding Rs. 2.5 crore of overseas collection, the worldwide box office collection stands at more than Rs. 13 crore.
Box Office India posted the East Punjab figure of "Sardaarji 2:"
Friday – Rs. 2,06,00,000
Saturday – Rs. 2,12,00,000
Sunday – Rs. 2,49,00,000
Monday – Rs. 1,33,00,000
While in India the film has already shattered the records of "Sardaarji," at the overseas box office the film is running behind. "Sardaarji" had minted Rs. 8.21 crore in its opening weekend from India and the overseas total stood at Rs. 3.24 crore.
Punjabi film "Sardaarji 2," directed by Rohit Jugraj, opened with the highest occupancy in East Punjab and Delhi this year until now. The occupancy of Diljit-starrer was better than all the Bollywood movies released this year and it continues to maintain a strong pace at the box office.
The film will have a good first-week run and a decent second weekend, but it remains to be seen whether it will survive at the box office after the release of Salman Khan's "Sultan" on July 6.
The entertaining drama, which was released on June 24, features Diljit in a double role, while Sonam Bajwa and Monica Gill are the female lead actresses.
