Power Star Pawan Kalyan's "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" has done phenomenal pre-release business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) and has beaten the theatrical rights record of "Srimanthudu".
"Sardaar Gabbar Singh" is the next most-awaited Telugu movie. The film unit has planned to wrap up its shooting by the end of February and launch its audio in March. The film will be released in theatres on 8 April. The huge hype and curiosity has created a great demand for its distribution, satellite and music rights and several leading distribution houses, music labels and TV channel are in race to bag its rights.
It has been reported that the makers of "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" have already sold out its theatrical rights for a whopping price. Eros International has reportedly acquired the worldwide distribution rights. Reports suggest that the leading distribution house has shelled out a hefty sum, which is said to be the second highest price for the distribution rights of a Telugu film after "Baahubali".
Reports further suggest that Eros International has already sold off the area-wise theatrical rights to the local distributors for fancy prices. The distribution house has reportedly pocketed Rs 42.7 crore from the sale of rights of seven areas in AP/T. Here are the prices of the distribution rights of those seven regions:

Nizam is the most potential area in terms of film business and many leading distribution houses were in race for the rights. Eros International has already struck a deal with a leading company, but the price has not been revealed. However, the experts from the industry feel that the price of this area cannot be lesser than Rs 15 crore. The prices of AP/T rights stand approximately at Rs 57.70 crore.
Superstar Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" had fetched Rs 41.70 crore and the price for its worldwide distribution rights stood at Rs 57 crore, which was the second highest for the Telugu film. If we go by the above figures, the price of AP/T rights of "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" is way more than the total price of "Srimanthudu".
Eros International and iDream Media are jointly distributing "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" in the key international markets like the US, Australia, UAE and others. The distribution company is likely to distribute the film in North India. But, it is yet to strike a deal over the rights of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
