The satellite rights of "Sarainodu" (Sarrainodu) were sold for a whopping amount, which is the record price for the TV rights for a movie featuring stylish star Allu Arjun in the lead role.
"Sarainodu," which is touted to be a high-octane action entertainer, has been creating positive buzz in the media ever since it was announced. Its promos have generated a lot of attention for the movie. The huge hype surrounding it has created a huge demand for the various rights of the movie. Several leading TV channels were in the race to bag its satellite rights.
The latest we hear is that the producers of "Sarainodu" have already struck a deal with a channel, which has shelled out a hefty sum for the flick's TV rights. Sun Network has acquired the satellite rights of its Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam versions for a fancy price of Rs. 16 crore, according to 123 Telugu.
Allu Arjun's previous release "S/o Satyamurthy" fetched Rs. 9 crore from the sale of its satellite rights, where were acquired by Star/Maa TV. This was the highest price for the TV rights for a Bunny film. Now, "Sarainodu" has shattered this record by fetching a higher price for the actor.
"Bahubali," which earned Rs. 45 crore from its satellite rights, is leading the list of Telugu movies with highest price for their TV rights. Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" was sild for Rs. 17 crore; Pawan Kalyan's "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" earned Rs. 13 crore from the Telugu version of its TV rights; while Eros shelled out Rs. 8 crore for the Hindi version of its satellite, audio, video and digital rights.
The price of the TV rights of "Sarainodu" is almost on par with that of "Srimanthudu" and "Sardaar Gabbar Singh." Now, it remains to be seen whether the Allu Arjun-starrer will be able to beat the TRPs record of the Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan's movies.
