The year 2016 has started on a bad note for television stars. After Pratyusha Banerjee, reports of another TV actress Ratan Rajput being molested has surfaced online.

A unit member allegedly molested Ratan, who plays the lead role in socio-mythological TV series "Santoshi Maa", on the show's sets, according to Mid-Day. The incident took place when she was shooting for the mythological show.

"Ratan was groped by a lightman during the shoot and she went up to the person in charge of production demanding strict action against him. But they didn't heed her plea. She then put her foot down and refused to shoot until the production house took appropriate action. Eventually, they sacked the lightman and requested Ratan to resume shoot," an eyewitness told Mid-Day.

The unit member was sacked only after few days. "The production house did not take immediate action. They were not even bothered initially. They thought about it for a few days and then decided to fire the culprit," the source said.

Ratan's molestation report is the third such incident that comes from the television industry in recent times. On Monday, "Bigg Boss 7" contestant Pratyusha filed an FIR alleging that eight policemen barged into her house and misbehaved with her.
