Director Rajkumar Hirani's biopic Sanju has remained undaunted with new movie releases and has been dominating the box office like a school replete with teachers. The movie has been running successfully in theatres across the country for the past four weeks and has put up a gold digging show in the domestic market as well as overseas.
The movie, which sees Ranbir Kapoor playing the titular role of Sanjay Dutt, has earned a total of Rs 337.45 crores nett after four weeks. The movie is likely to cross lifetime box office collections of blockbuster films like Tiger Zinda Hai and PK which earned Rs 339 crores and Rs 340 crores during its entire run.
Sanju's lifetime box office collections are expected to standstill at Rs 343-345 crores and become the second highest Hindi grosser of all time in India after Aamir Khan starrer Dangal which earned Rs 370 crores in its lifetime.
Film trade analyst and critic Sumit Kadel took to Twitter to share the box office collections of Sanju after the completion of the fourth week since its release.
"#Sanju Total Collection after 4th week stands HISTORIC ₹ 337.45 cr nett. Lifetime looking to close at ₹ 343-345 cr which will make Sanju second highest grosser of all time in India after #Dangal. Considering non festival release, Sanju is Indeed the biggest BlOCKBUSTER," Sumit Kadel tweeted.
Kadel also pointed the fact that if Sanju would have been released during festival period, it would have crossed Rs 400 crores mark nett figure in India. Sanju turned out to be the second non-holiday release after Baahubali 2 to achieve this feat.
