Hrithik Roshan and director Sanjay Gupta were trolled on social media for showing the actor wearing a watch when he plays the character of a blind man in Kaabil. The director has now reacted to the trolls and memes with a clarification.
After Kaabil, Hrithik Roshan to romance Yami Gautam in Krrish 4 as well?
A number of memes and trolls were circulated on Twitter and Facebook questioning "why is Hrithik Roshan wearing a watch in Kaabil when he plays a blind man?"
Sanjay Gupta has now shut the trolls saying that there are special watches for blind people and Hrithik wore one of those in the movie.
"I am amused to see that a lot of people have an objection to Hrithik wearing a watch in Kaabil promos despite being visually impaired. However, here's a fact that would perhaps help enhance their intellect. There are watches specially designed for visually challenged people and they are called Braille watches," DNA quoted Sanjay as saying.
"And now there are also talking watches available for the ones who can't see. Hrithik's character is wearing one. So, you see we did our homework," he added.
The Kaabil director also said that Hrithik's watch plays an important role in the film and it was not included without any reason. "Trust me, when you see the film, you will agree that the watch plays an important part in the narrative. I can't divulge more on that right now, but looking at what started off on social media, it is safe to say that we are living in a country where people jump the gun and derive pleasure in running someone else's efforts down," he added.
Sanjay also shared similar words on Twitter along with a picture of such specially designed watches.
