Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was released from jail Thursday morning, has finalised two films. The "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S." actor will start his second Bollywood innings with directors Siddharth Anand and Umesh Shukla.
Speculations were rife as to which film Sanjay will sign post his release from jail. But it can now be confirmed that Sanjay will work with the "Bang Bang" and "OMG – Oh My God!" directors. Sanjay's wife Manyata Dutt has been in talks with both the directors, DNA reports.
"Sanjay Dutt's first film, after his release from jail, will be directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Kriaj Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Essel Vision Productions. Shooting will start from July after look tests, workshops and pre-production work which is starting from March. Siddharth's film will be a slick and stylish action-thriller. It's been an almost neck-to-neck race with Umesh Shukla's film which is being produced by Anurag Shrivastav and Rohit Chaudhury (Bahul)," DNA quoted an insider from the film industry as saying.
Sanjay will start working with Siddharth first and after completing his film, he will take up the second project with Umesh.
"Sanjay is supposed to start Umesh's film after Siddharth's as he had loved Umesh's concept, which was entertainment with a good message. Umesh will begin the project once he completes his next directorial 102 Not Out, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal," the source added.
The "Lage Raho Munna Bhai" actor was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case for illegal possession of arms. Sanjay was released from prison Thursday morning after a 40-month long sentence.
