Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza won the Pan Pacific Open title in Japan in the women's doubles event on Saturday. She partnered with Czechoslovakia's Barbora Strycova in the event to beat China's Chen Liang and Zhaoxuan Yang 6-1 6-1 in the final, that lasted just 51 minutes.
This is the Indo-Czech duo's second title together following the Cincinnati Open title. Sania and Barbora had earlier reached the quarterfinal of US Open 2016.
Sania, in the process, clinched her Sania's 40th doubles title and the third in Tokyo. She had earlier won the Pan Pacific Open title with Cara Black twice. The 29-year-old, who won three Grand Slam women's doubles titles alongside Martina Hingis, recently parted ways with the Swiss sensation earlier this year.
In the final of the Cincinnati Open last month, Sania and Barbora beat Martina Hingis and Coco Vandeweghe 7-5, 6-4.
The Indo-Czech duo suffered a straight sets defeat at the hands of Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in the US Open 2016 quarterfinals.
