Actress Sanam Shetty is kicked-up over getting an opportunity to work with Superstar Mahesh Babu in Koratala Siva's "Srimanthudu". What thrills her most is that she got this project without an audition.
Sanam Shetty is a software engineer and has worked with an IT company in the UK, before making her acting debut in the film industry. She was also into modelling during her college days. She quit her job to pursue a career with Tamil film "Ambuli" in 2012. She also forayed into Mollywood with "Cinema Company" during the same year.
Having starred in seven films, Sanam made her debut in Tollywood with K Raghavendra Rao's "Intinta Annamayya" in 2015. Though the film did not release, she considers it a big deal. "Getting a chance to work with K Raghavendra Rao was itself a big deal for me. Unfortunately, that film didn't release, but I see this project as my second shot at Tollywood," The Times of India quoted her as saying.
Her acting in "Intinta Annamayya" was helpful in getting the offer for Mahesh Babu's next. "I didn't even have to give an audition for Mahesh's film. Someone who had worked with me in Intinta... recommended me to the director (Koratala Siva) who was convinced that I would suit the role, looking at my pictures," Sanam told TOI.
Sanam Shetty has all praise for Mahesh Babu for his simplicity and down-to-earth nature. She says that she was starstruck during her first meeting with the superstar, but the latter made her feel comfortable. The actress also had a great time with other artistes on the sets.
"I was extremely nervous on the first day. Apart from Mahesh, it was overwhelming to act alongside senior actors like Jagapathi Babu and Sukanya, but everyone was extremely chilled out. I never thought I would get such a big opportunity so early on in my career," the actress said.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Mahesh Babu's next movie, which has been tentatively titled "Srimanthudu", is a commercial entertainer. Besides direction, Koratala Siva has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film. Shruti Haasan is playing the female lead in the movie. The details of Sanam's role in the movie have not been revealed yet.
