The relationship rumours shrouding Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam's lives may have made people interested in their chemistry in "Sanam Re", which is why they would want to watch it this Friday, but that's not the only factor making this Divya Khosla Kumar directorial special.
Yami Gautam-Pulkit Samrat all set to charm
They look fresh, cute and come with a lot of promise. Although their off-screen deal has sort of overshadowed what the film stands for, if the lead star's statements are taken into consideration, that was the plan.
Quaint locations
The film has its location game on point. It has been shot in some of the quietest of places in Himachal Pradesh, and the landscape adds to the story. "This time we went to Kalpa, Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) and Ladakh besides Mumbai, Chandigarh and Canada. I was looking for a sleepy town like Spiti in Himachal Pradesh, that looks like it has been left behind," Kumar told The Times of India.
The melodious album
Even if you're the kind that doesn't take fancy to love stories, you could just calm your nerves watching the songs play on the big screen while the boy serenades his lady love. Composed by Mithoon, Amaal Mallik and Raju Singh, the numbers are a good mix of soothing and peppy. The "Sanam Re" title song is out-of-the-world brilliant.
Rishi Kapoor and Bharti Singh's special appearances
While the veteran actor plays Samrat's grandfather, the stand-up comedian essays the role of a camp leader. Since Kapoor's age ranges from 60 to 80, he had to go for a few look tests. "It was an enriching experience working with Rishiji. There's so much one can learn from him — be it professionalism or filmmaking," TOI quoted Kumar as saying.
"Sanam Re" hits screens on Feb. 12, Friday.
