After months of speculations, the much awaited fourth generation Galaxy Note will reportedly see the light of the day early next month.
Smartphone leader, Samsung announced on Wednesday (6 August) that the company will host the second edition of the its premier launch event Samsung Unpacked 2014 on 3 September at Berlin, just a couple of days ahead of the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2014 in Germany. The company is also holding the event simultaneously in Beijing and New York City.
Like 2013, this year's Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 event, in all certainty will witness the launch of the Galaxy Note 4. Even the graphic image of the press invite gives away the hint that the company will showcase the new flagship phablet.
The new device is expected to help raise the company's morale for the rest of the year as the first half of 2014 saw deterioration in the Samsung's mobile sales profit margins.
The smartphone leader is getting squeezed from both the sides – top end (from arch rival Apple Inc.) and in the lower segment market by emerging firms - Huawei and especially four-year old Xiaomi, who in the second quarter (April- June) dethroned the Samsung as the leader in the Chinese smartphone market in terms of units sold and also catapulted to the top five global smartphone leader chart.
So in its bid to arrest the declining profits, Samsung is said to have made major changes in terms of components used in the upcoming Galaxy Note 4. It is expected to boast bendable display with 2K (2560x1440p) resolution, UV sensor, latest Android OS, minimum 3GB (or 4GB) RAM, 16GB/32GB (expandable), 16.0-megapixel Sony camera with OIS and value-added features like - Water-proof certifications, finger print sensor/Iris Scanner, heart-rate sensor, ultra-violet sensor, ultra-sound enabled S Pen Stylus.
