The much-anticipated second generation Google Nexus 10, which was expected to get launched in late 2013, is reportedly set to make its debut in the upcoming international electronics trade fair CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2014, says a new report.
Taiwan-based website DigiTimes claims Nexus 10 developers Google and Samsung would use CES 2014 as the stage to showcase the new tablet.
Though DigiTimes' track record has its hits and misses in predicting device releases in the past, the possible launch of Nexus 10 2 still cannot be ruled out since the stocks of its predecessor (2012 model) have reportedly ran out at some reputed sellers' inventories in the US, leading many to believe Google and Samsung may come up with a new version sooner or later.
The website says that the new Nexus 10 may feature an AMOLED-based display but restrains from revealing more specifications expected on the upcoming device.
Since Nexus devices are affiliated to Google, we expect the tablet to run on Android's latest KitKat (v4.4.2) OS and probably Samsung would bump up the CPU specifications by using its own in-house Exynos 5 series Octa-core processor with 3GB RAM. The company had used dual-core Exynos CPU and 2GB physical memory in the first generation Nexus 10.
Though the news of Nexus 10 2 has went viral in the media, neither Samsung nor Google are yet to officially comment on the report.
