It's been only a week since Samsung launched the most-awaited smartphone - Galaxy S4 - at New York City's historic landmark Radio City Music Hall on 14 March. Now, speculations are doing the rounds that Samsung is shifting focus from smartphones to third generation Galaxy Note 3 and tablets PCs, which are set for release later this year.
Popular Samsung community blog SamMobile has reported that the South Korean electronics giant is working hard on bringing in two tablet PCs - a 7-inch 'Tab 3' and a big screen 10.1 or 11.6-inch (unconfirmed) 'Tab 3 Plus' tablet PC as well as 'Galaxy Note 3' later this year in the global electronics trade show IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) which is scheduled to take place in Germany between September 6-11.
The rumoured September launch date matches the patterns of Samsung's previous releases at the IFA trade show. The first generation Galaxy Note phablet made its global debut in IFA 2011 and its successor too was unveiled in Germany around the same time.
But the recent Galaxy S4 launch indicates that Samsung might skip IFA trade event and may try to host another solo event to launch the Galaxy Note 3 as it had left some clues in the Galaxy S4 launch event's press invite which showed 'Samsung Unpacked 2013' with a tagline 'Episode 1', suggesting there are more events to follow.
Speculations are rife that Galaxy Note 3 display will breach the 6-inch screen size barrier further blurring the difference between smartphone and tablet PCs and it is expected to sport a Super AMOLED Full HD display as well as innovative touch-free feature such as Smart Scroll, Smart Pause, S Voice Drive as seen in the recently unveiled Galaxy S4.
The website further revealed that the Samsung buoyed by the feedback received from Galaxy S4's Super AMOLED Full HD display, it plans to embed same high-definition display panels into speculated Tab 3 models to compete with rivals tablets from Sony Xperia Z series as well as arch nemesis Apple which is also expected to launch the iPad mini 2 with retina display later this year.
