Smartphone leader Samsung is reportedly planning to showcase the company's new flagship Galaxy S6 and its variant at the upcoming CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2015.
Samsung community blog, SamMobile citing reliable sources has claimed that the South Korean company would host a gathering at the Samsung's booth in CES 2015 (6-9 January), Las Vegas Convention Center to display its forthcoming Galaxy S6 and its variant.
However, sources say that this will be a small gathering of Samsung and its distributor partners only. The booth will not be open to public.
Considering Samsung's closed-door meet, we believe that Samsung is trying to woo partners by giving a glance on upcoming Galaxy S6, which is said to boast a whole new design language with metal based Unibody design and powerful internal hardware specifications.
If distributors get excited with Samsung's offer, they would voluntarily involve themselves in promotional activities prior to the launch, which will in turn boost Samsung's morale.
It is learnt that 'Project Zero', which we have been hearing for past couple of months, is a pet project of Samsung to reinvigorate the fading Galaxy S series brand in the global market.
In that order, Samsung is building the new phone from scratch. The recently leaked Galaxy S6's case shows use of metal, probably Aluminum. Under the hood, it is said to pack Exynos 7420 Octa-core (four Cortex-A53 + four Cortex-A57 cores)/another variant with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 series Octa-core CPU (Quad-core ARM® Cortex™ A57 and quad-core A53 with 64-bit support) with 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory, Android 5.0 Lollipop and a 20.0-megapixel camera.
On the other hand, limited edition Galaxy S6 Edge will boast of dual-edge display, where-in phone's screen will be curved on both right and left side. Other internal hardware is said to remain same as the flagship phone.
That's not all. The company in its bid for fresh ideas has rejigged company management by letting some senior executives go and bringing in new faces onboard.

That being said, Galaxy S6 is said to be the game changer for Samsung. If it becomes a success, it will boost the company's revenue, which has been on the decline for past three quarters. On the flipside, if Galaxy S6 fails, rivals Apple Inc and Xiaomi will seize the opportunity to lessen the gap them and Samsung's market share.
