Samsung is all set to release a new smartphone in India Thursday, March 31. The company hasn't revealed anything about the device, creating confusion whether it will be the 2016 version of the Galaxy J2, Galaxy J3, Galaxy J5 or the Galaxy J7. However, it is most likely that the handset could be the Galaxy J3 (2016) that was released in the United States earlier this year.

Samsung India (via SammyHub) has put up a promotion that reads "Watch out for the new smartphone that will change the way you ride." Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who endorsed the Galaxy J line last year, is seen in the teaser, thus giving a hint that it could be from the J series. The new device is said to have a new feature called "Bike Mode" that mutes the phone when turned on and sends message to callers to call back later.

The new device is very likely to be the Galaxy J3 (2016) that was released in China in November 2015 and then in the US in January this year. Priced at $179 (around Rs. 11, 915), the smartphone sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels (294 ppi pixel density), measures 142.3x71x7.9mm in dimension and weighs 138g.

Under the hoods, it has a quad-core processor clocking at 1.2GHz, an 8GB/16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card), a 1.5GB RAM, an 8MP main camera, a 5MP front-snapper and a 2,600mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, it supports USB 2.0, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, WLAN 802.11 b / g / n 2.4GHz and Bluetooth v4.1.
