South Korean tech giant Samsung has finally ended the wait for its Galaxy tab, which has been making headlines for a while now. The company on Thursday took the wraps off its Galaxy Tab3 Lite tablet, which could hit the market any time from now.
The specifications of the Galaxy Tab3 Lite correlate well with the previous rumours and speculations, and the company said that the tablet will be made available globally. Though the company did not reveal any details of the price and availability of the tablet for different markets, it said that the tablet will make its debut in white and black versions.
The Galaxy Tab3 Lite Tablet which is touted to be the slimmer and the lighter version of the Galaxy Tab 3 sports a 7-inch WSVGA (1024x600 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It houses 8GB of internal storage with expandable option by upto 32 GB via microSD card, 2-megapixel rear camera. With a missing front facing camera, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
On the connectivity front, the new tablet supports Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS/ AGPS, GLONASS and 3G (SIM support) and packs 3600mAh battery, which claims to deliver up to eight hours of video playback. The tablet measures 193.4x116.4x9.7mm dimensions and weighs 310 grams. The preloaded apps on the tablet include Chrome, Gmail, Google+, Maps, Play Books, Play Movies, Play Music, Play Store, Hangouts, YouTube, Samsung Apps, Samsung Hub, ChatON, Dropbox, Polaris Office, and Flipboard.
Even though the price of the tablet is yet to be known, it is presumed that the brand will place the new tablet slightly on the lower side of Galaxy Tab 3. GSM Arena reported that Polish site X-kom has listed the new tablet for PLN 799,which equals to ₹16,008.
