As promised, Samsung has officially released the recently unveiled Galaxy S7 series in global markets.
The company confirmed the new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will been made available at brick-and-mortar stores in international markets, including the U.S., Europe, Singapore, Australia and Korea, from March 11.
As far as the Indian market is concerned, the new Galaxy S7 series will hit the stores March 18. The company is offering a free Gear VR headset to consumers who preorder the devices before March 17.

Samsung's new 2016 series smartphones come in two variants — a normal Galaxy S7 with flat display panel and another with dual-edge curved screen, dubbed Galaxy S7 edge.
However, the latter is bit bigger. The Galaxy S7 edge comes with a 5.5-inch screen, whereas the Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch display. Both devices have QHD (2560x1440p)-resolution screens with the "Always On" feature, and come encased in a 3D glass-and-metal-fused body.
The company also revealed both the Galaxy S7 series phones will boast IP68 water-resistant certification and a micro-SD card slot, which were sorely missed in the Galaxy S6 series.
[Note: With IP68 certifications, the Galaxy S7 series devices can survive five feet underwater for close to 30 minutes]
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge come with two SoC (System on Chip) variants depending on the region of sale. One will house the company's proprietary Exynos 8890 series Octa-core CPU, while the other will come packed with Qualcomm's 2.2GHz Snapdragon 820 series quad-core processor. They are backed by 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory with an option of expansion up to 200GB. [For more information on which market is getting what type of chipset in the table below].
