Samsung may have been hit hard by the fiasco of the Galaxy Note 7 but it is trying to get out of this mess and move on. It is now offering freebies and discount to users of the device in France who opt for an exchange with the company's flagship devices – the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.
The South Korean technology company recalled the Galaxy Note 7 worldwide in September after a faulty battery caused the device to catch fire. It gave two options to the consumers -- either exchange the discontinued handset with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge or opt for a full refund before December 3, but reports said that millions of people are still using the device.

Interestingly, Samsung France is now offering freebies to Galaxy Note 7 owners if they are willing to opt for an exchange with another device from the same brand. It has sent out emails to Galaxy Note 7 owners that it would give away a free 128GB microSD card as compensation and 100 euro discount for those who are willing to exchange the discontinued device for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge.
Samsung has also come up with a contest for Galaxy Note 7 owners to win a chance to visit the company's virtual reality amusement park called Samsung Life Changer Park in Paris. Consumers will receive an SMS when the contest opens, and all they need to do is text back Samsung. The first 1000 customers to text back will win the contest. They can visit the park along with a quest either on December 20 or December 27, and Samsung will take care of all the expenses - logistics and transportation.
The Galaxy Note 7 sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,440x2,560 pixels (518 ppi pixel density), powered by an Exynos 8890 processor, and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
