Samsung has launched its much-hyped flagship – the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ — in India. The handsets will be up for pre-orders at midnight (Friday night) but its shipping will start on May 5. The company is offering a wireless charging accessory worth Rs 4,499 to those who pre-book the handsets.
The Galaxy S8 comes with a price tag of Rs 57,900 while its bigger sibling Galaxy S8+ is priced at Rs 64,900. The former is available in two colours — Black and Maple Gold – and the latter in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Maple Gold.

All eyes were on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ ahead of their launch following the debacle of the Galaxy Note 7 which had to be recalled from the market because of a faulty battery. The handsets have been launched finally, and it's worth the wait as it has several features that will catch the attention of the users.
First of all, the handset has a great design sans the home button. So, 80 percent of the screen is dedicated for view. The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,440x2,960 pixels (570 ppi pixel density) and the Galaxy S8+ features a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,440x2,960 pixels (529 ppi pixel density).
Under the hood, the device has an Exynos 8895 processor / Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (for US model), Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, a 4GB RAM, a 64GB internal memory expandable up to 256GB via microSD card, a 12MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture, 26mm lens, phase detection autofocus, OIS, LED flash, 1/2.5" sensor size and 1.4 µm pixel size, an 8MP front-snapper with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus, and a 3,000mAh battery with Fast battery charging technology.
The Galaxy S8 also has Iris scanner, IP68 certification (dust and water proof), fingerprint scanner, and Bluetooth 5 that can transfer files at 2-Mbps.
