Samsung is less than two weeks away from officially launching the new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones, but new leaked photos gives a sneak peek of the flagships in two new colours. One of the leaked photos shows the Galaxy S7 pictured in gold while another image hints at a new colour option.
Popular mobile tipster @evleaks shared an image on Twitter on Wednesday of what appears to be the Galaxy S7 edge in a silver hue with a hint of grey. The pictured handset in the new shade looks refreshing and points towards new colour options this time. In terms of design, the handset looks almost identical to last year's flagship, but the Galaxy S7 edge is expected to come with a bigger 5.5-inch display.
Another leaked image of the Galaxy S7 by Spanish website Pisapapeles shows Samsung will continue to offer the gold option for the flagship. The publication shows the unannounced handset's front and rear design after claiming to have gained access to the display model of the Galaxy S7. Like the Galaxy S7 Edge, there is minimal difference in terms of design, but the bezels seem to have become slimmer and the front camera lens looks bigger.
According to Pisapapeles, the fingerprint scanner is integrated into the home button, which also appears bigger than what we saw in the Galaxy S6. The publication also said the Galaxy S7 will not sport USB Type-C connector, as rumours suggested, and instead stick to standard microUSB.
Other rumours surrounding the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge talk of a bigger battery that is expected to last two days, a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, water and dust-resistant build, 4GB RAM, a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP front-snapper. Samsung might launch two variants of the new flagship, one of which will be powered by the Exynos 8890 chipset.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 series during Galaxy Unpacked event on Feb. 21.
