World smartphone leader, Samsung is reportedly working hard to incorporate top-of-the-line specifications in its upcoming flagship smartphone for an early launch in 2014.
Korean arm of popular tech blog, ZDNet citing industry sources has revealed that Samsung's new phone will boast of Quad HD (aka 2K-HD) 2560x1440p resolution display and a more advanced eye (Iris) scanning biometric technology.
The company is apparently done with the trial process and is on the verge of mass production. If things go as per schedule, Samsung may unveil the new flagship smartphone at the international electronics trade fair, MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014, Barcelona, Spain, which is set to kick-off on 27 February.
Though the website refrains from mentioning the device's name, the reported features seems to be in line with the Galaxy S5 rumour.
If speculations are to be believed, one can expect Galaxy S5 to come in two variants, one metal-clad premium model and another with plastic casing; both will feature 5.0-inch size display, Android v4.4 KitKat OS, 3GB RAM (or more), 64-bit architecture based Exynos Octa-core processor, 16.0-megapixel camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), 2.1-megapixel secondary camera and a 4000 mAh battery.
We are not sure if Samsung would use MWC 2014 as a launch pad to unveil its flagship smartphone Galaxy S5, since the company is known to host a private event, like this year's 'Samsung Unpacked' Episode 1 and 2, which saw the debut of Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 (along with Galaxy Gear smartwatch) respectively.
