Samsung's most awaited smartphone of the year, Galaxy S5 may finally see the light of day as the company confirmed to host Unpacked 5 event later this month.
The South Korean firm has announced that the 'Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 1' event will be held on 24 February, Barcelona, the very same day international telecommunication trade fair, MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014 is also set to kick-off.
The company mentions that the event will be streamed live online via Samsung's official YouTube channel from 20:00 CET (around 12:30 AM IST, 25 February).
Though the company has refrained from revealing any details regarding the significance of the event, it goes without saying that the upcoming episode is certain to witness the debut of the fifth generation Galaxy S smartphone, considering last year's 'Unpacked' events witnessed the launch of Galaxy S4 (in March) and Galaxy Note 3 & Galaxy Gear smartwatch (in September).
Additionally, Samsung's invitation title specifically quotes "Unpacked 5," which is another clue hinting the possible launch of Galaxy S5.
Samsung's new Galaxy S5 is expected to flaunt a metal shell with a little bump in display size. It will reportedly sport a 5.25-inch super AMOLED screen with a staggering resolution of 2560x1440p having a pixel density of 560 ppi (pixels per inch).
Under the hood, it is said to house new generation 64-bit architecture Exynos 6 chipset with 4GB RAM and boast of finger-print based biometric technology for screen unlocking.
