South Korean technology giant Samsung is all set to unveil its next flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone at its Mobile Unpacked event in New York on Thursday. The event is scheduled to start at 7 pm EST at Radio City Music Hall in the Big Apple.
Samsung has reportedly prepared a public live streaming of the event at Times Sqaure. Earlier this week, the company also posted an image on its twitter account specifying the launch date.
"The countdown for #TheNextBigThing has begun. Who's ready for the Global Unpacked Event on March 14?" Samsung Mobile US tweeted.
Galaxy S4 is considered as one the most highly anticipated devices of 2013 as it is expected to take on Apple iPhone 5 - the king of all smartphones. The latest rumours about its features and specifications have set the tech world on fire.
Going by the rumours, the device will feature a 4.99-inch (or 5-inch) Super AMOLED full HD resolution display and come in multiple processor types. According to a Bloomberg report, the US-bound Galaxy S4 it will use Qualcomm's quad-core chip, while the model for other markets will rely on Samsung's eight-core chip.
Reports also suggest that fourth-generation Galaxy S will have a 13-megapixel camera with Orb camera technology and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. Other likely features include a removable battery, Adreno 320 GPU, TouchWiz UI and Wireless charging.
If the rumours turn out to be true then the new Samsung device will have the "ability to disrupt the mobile market," Greg Isbister, the CEO of mobile advertising company BlisMedia, told Sky News.
With less than 24 hours left for the Galaxy S4 launch, the technology world will just have to just sit back and wait.
