Samsung Galaxy S4 mini will make its global debut soon after Galaxy S4 sales begin, confirmed a Samsung executive.
According to Bloomberg, Samsung's next big offering is likely to launch by the end of April. Senior Vice President at Samsung Electronics Lee Keon Hyok said, "The Galaxy S4 doesn't come out until late April. It's fast, has a big, bright screen, and will probably be another huge hit for Samsung, as will the S 4 mini that will go on sale soon after."
Soon after the release of Galaxy S4, speculations about its mini version have gained traction. Bloomberg confirmed the existence of the miniature Galaxy S4. Also, SamMobile citing Twitter account users @ermek as its source posted a set of leaked images of the smaller version of Galaxy S4.
Reports said the phone is likely to boast a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a pixel density of 256ppi. Other rumoured specifications include Android 4.2.2 jelly Bean, 1.6GHz dual-core processor, Samsung's new TouchWiz interface Nature UX 2.0, dual-SIM capability, 4G LTE and HSPA+.
In a separate report, GSMArena revealed four variants of Galaxy S4 Mini, bearing model numbers GT I-9190, GT I-9192, GT I-9195 and the GT I-9198.
Meanwhile, the smaller version of Galaxy S3 which made its international debut last October is yet to hit retail stores. A recent report suggested that Samsung has no plans to release the Galaxy S3 mini in India, due to concerns that the smaller version might cannibalize the sales of other Samsung smartphones. It is not known whether the company will adopt the same market strategy for Galaxy S4 mini as well.
