Amid speculations that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Note 3 may not receive the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system update, Samsung's R&D India division claims that the company is developing Android 4.3 OS for the same smartphones.
According to a Temefy report, the South Korean titan is prepping the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update alongside its Galaxy S4 update. The website which also posted a leaked image showing a Galaxy S3 running on 4.3.0 Android Jelly Bean suggest that Android 4.3 is also being tested on Galaxy Note 2. Samsung R&D India is said to be simultaneously prepping Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 for both Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3. It is also speculated that Samsung may abandon Android 4.2.2 version if the newer version of Android is rolled out by next week.
Samsung has been rumoured to roll out the Jelly Bean update for a string of smartphones in the past couple of months. Although the test build for Galaxy S3 has been leaked earlier, technology website SamMobile had earlier pointed out that the OS update for Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 has been delayed due to issues with the new TouchWiz and user interface. A recent report also suggested that Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 are likely to skip Android v4.2 for a newer version.
Google is expected to release the next version of Android at its 24 July event in San Francisco. However, it is not clear what updates and changes the newer version of Android will include.
