Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 Duos, Core 2 Duos with KitKat OS Surface Online ahead of Launch

An online retailer has reportedly listed a couple of unreleased Samsung budget phones ahead of their launch.

Vietnamese e-commerce website Mai Nguyen has listed Samsung's yet-to-be announced second generation Galaxy Core and Pocket series smartphones, revealing the specifications.

According to the e-shop, the mid-range smartphone Galaxy Core 2 Duos will sport a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800p), 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB (expandable up 64GB), a 5.0-megapixel (main) camera, a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) camera and a 2000 mAh battery.

Entry-level Galaxy Pocket 2 Duos, on the other hand, flaunts a smaller 3.2-inch HVGA (240x320p) screen and ships with 1.0GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB (expandable up to 64GB), a 5.0-megapixel camera and a 1400 mAh battery.

The website also disclosed that the upcoming phones - Galaxy Core 2 and Pocket 2 - would ship with Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS for 3,990,000 VND (around ₹11,300) and 1,179,000 VND (around ₹5,000) respectively.

Though there is no proof to validate the authenticity of the revelation by the Vietnamese website, it has to be noted that Mai Nguyen has a pretty good track record of disclosing device specifications ahead of their launch.

For instance, Mai Nguyen website was one of the first to reveal the popular Nokia X's features. There were reports of Nokia X launch getting shelved due to acquisition of the Finnish company by Microsoft but in the end Mai Nguyen's forecast came true in late February. So, many are betting high on the possibility that the Vietnamese outfit's predictions would become true again.
